Whether you’re building a new home in Charlotte or buying an existing one, the fact is homes are selling quickly in Charlotte. This is good! However, if you’re selling your home and it’s on the market, please make sure your home is staged properly. It’s these really small details that really add up and may hinder the sale of your home.

According to the Charlotte Business Journal, Charlotte is the 9th most popular place to move in the country. That’s huge! So get your home ready to sell but pay attention to details. Make your home stand out from the rest and go that extra mile.

Keep in mind that if you’re looking for a Color Specialist in Charlotte to help you with your colors, either to sell or when you buy, please let me know. I too live in Charlotte and I know these homes well and know what colors look best in our lighting.

Ok. Here are a few details you may want to pay attention to when you are about to put your home on the market. Small perhaps, but still, all eyes are looking.

STRANGE WALL HANGINGS

I have no idea why someone would put a drapery rod and sheers over a bed but this is very strange. I would have gone the extra mile and purchased several more panels to beef up the very skimpy window treatments seen in this picture. An easy fix that would really cozy up this room.

HIDE ALL YOUR MAN-SCAPING DEVICES

We all know it’s there we just don’t want to see it. Take your personal kit and place it under the counter for the day. This will free up more space on your counter top and reduce the clutter.

PUT THE SEATS DOWN

The commode. They are in every home and we know what’s inside we just don’t want to see it. Please put the lid down. Extremely small peeve but this detail still another one that makes an impact for potential home buyers.

This should be a no brainer but someone has left used towels out when this photo was taken. If you look to the right you can also see pet stairs that don’t need to be there.

One last thing … COLOR. I know this home is selling and it’s nice to have a blank palette because you never know what your potential home buyer will like. Having said that, you know that I’m always going to opt for just a little pigment on the walls. How about something like this:
